These group mentoring sessions will be hosted by Claire Beney, Strategic Director at Active Devon, and focus on working within, alongside or as part of a Place Partnership – where to focus your energy, how to engage and how to embed change. There will be 3 two hour sessions for these group discussions.
Through a combination of teaching and interactive practical exercises, this course from the SGA develops governance leaders' understanding of key governance processes, effective meetings and decision making, and appreciation of board culture and dynamics.

Aimed at anyone working or volunteering in or with the sports, leisure or physical activity sectors, this forum supports those working to tackle Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation, reinforcing the fact that ‘safeguarding is everyone’s business’. The forum is an opportunity to hear from our guest speakers and for attendees to participate in group interactive discussions, enabling participants to network and share ideas and examples of good practice.

As part of our System Partner work with Sport England, Leadership Skills Foundation would like to bring together CYP, Workforce and Place colleagues from Active Partnerships to explore this question, share learning and hear examples of local delivery.
The session will consider the role that youth leadership and essential skills can play in supporting the ambitions of Uniting the Movement and local Place Plans — particularly in creating opportunities for young people who are currently underrepresented.
